Story
Hi everyone
At the ripe of age of 41 I have decided to put myself forward for the ITU World Triathlon (Sprint) event in Leeds in June of this year.
I have to point out that the Sprint event is a shortened version of the Olympic distance. That said, it involves a 750m swim (in a lake in Roundhay, Leeds), a 20 KM bike ride and a 7.5 KM run.
I’m entering this event with ‘Team Bones’ who are part of an amazing charity called Bone Cancer Research. Bone Cancer is fortunately very rare, but when people are diagnosed, it can have devastating consequences.
Team Bones are attempting to raise over £1.1M in 2017 and I’d love to make a small, but vital, contribution to that.
So, whether you can afford £10, £5 or even £1 (ok maybe a bit more than that) please feel free to donate something. If nothing else just to know that a recruitment director will be swimming around in a freezing cold lake which contains various nasties such as lymes disease, something called ‘swimmers itch’ caused by a certain parasite and
floating rubbish.
Anyway, thank you for reading my Just Giving Page and for your support.
