Story
Everyday we are reminded by world events not to take our current health status for granted. Our lives can change suddenly, and irrevocably, with no warning what so ever.
Up until recently cousin Alan had a good life. Since retiring 4 years ago he had gained his pilot's license and was enjoying making the most of his shared plane. A respected member of the Masons he had an active social life, a life time in work had provided a comfortable pension. Life was good. Then suddenly. in May 2009, just weeks before his 69th birthday, it all changed when he suffered a debilitating stroke that affected his left arm and leg. Months of painful physiotherapy, a number of accidental falls, a broken hip and an emergency brain operation later he is back where he started, ward 9 of Prince Phillip Hospital, Llanelli. With the prospect of having to learn how to walk all over again and even then an uncertain future when he returns home.
The Stroke Association provide valuable support for stroke victims in the community and Alan will need all the help they can muster when he eventually leaves hospital. A donation to them will help secure this help for Alan, and all the many other stroke sufferers in Wales.
Please give generously - and pray to whatever GOD you acknowledge that you never find yourself in the position of needing their help yourself.
