Story
Hi!!!
This summer I am going to be spending 7 weeks teaching English at Shree Shanta Secondary School in Pashupatinagar in the Ilam district of Nepal. However I will also be helping to construct an extra classroom for the same school with five other volunteers and to do this I need to raise at least £700 to pay for construction materials and classroom learning materials. Any extra money I raise will go to assist the running of the same school in a relatively remote area in the foothills on the himalayas.
I have been given this opportunity by the Bristol based student-run charity BVDA (Bristol Volunteers Development Abroad registered charity 1093476). BVDA sends volunteers from the University of Bristol to remote locations in Nepal, Malawi and Uganda every summer. It is special in the sense that it works with local NGOs to make sure that it's projects and wanted by the community and most importantly sustainable.
None of the money I raise through this site will go to fund my personal trip, all will go to the school where I will be teaching, although I need to raise the money in order to be able to go. Also Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you very very much for reading this and I hope you will make my dream of travelling to and teaching in Nepal come true by donating!
