When I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression at the age of 15, I started to lock myself away in my bedroom away from the world. As a result of this, the doctors recommended OTR to me in the hope that the 1:1 therapy sessions would help me out of this dark time in my life. My first session was with one of their therapists, Emma, and during that 2-hour long meeting, it really put things into perspective and made me realise that I need to talk about my problems to get through them and not keep them all to myself. I feel like this is a massive thing that all young people need to realise before it's too late and I want to help encourage the work that OTR have done with me and continue to do with others in order to help other young people get through situations similar to mine.
Having this personal connection with OTR has made me think a lot about what I can do to use my experience and turn it into a good thing and with the support of my friends and family, I have my mind set on raising a target of £5,000 for them. I know it's a lot of money but with the support network I have around me as well as help from you all, I know I can reach it in good time!
