i have set up this page to raise money and bring awareness to the motor neurone disease (MND) association.

to do this i am riding my 1964 GT200 lambretta from the 100mphlambrettaclub/supertune shop premises in the west mids (they are sponsoring me by preparing my scooter and other help!) to the old innocenti/lambretta factory in milan using mainly A and B roads, a distance of over a 1000miles. supertune, 100mphlambrettaclub, scootering magazine, ROCK oil, tucano urbano scooter/motorcycle clothing, vcustoms telford, pemberton&co, shropshire classic sprayers,  are all very kindly giving me full sponsorship.

the main reason for this trip is because my dad had MND and passed away from it after suffering terribly for years. through the MND associations help my mum and i were able to keep and care for him at home during this time which meant alot to him. he loved 2 wheels and wasnt without a motorbike from the age of 15 until 62 when he passed away, which is why im doing this fundraising on my scooter.

i have owned this scooter since i was 18 and my dad used to help me keep it on the road back in the day! in april 2004 (1 month before my dad died) i had a very serious accident on the GT (see pics!) in italy and was left with 2 smashed legs 1 of which the doctors wanted to cut off much to my horror! i have made a good recovery thanks to very good doctors and nurses at shrewsbury hospital especially simon hill and nurse netty! i still suffer with a lot of pain due to muscle damage so this ride to milan is going to quite a test of endurance for me!

anyway sorry to bore you all to tears but thanks for the support and whatever you give however large or small is greatly appreciated!!

thank you, john cartwright.

p.s if any companies want to get involved with official trip sponsorship you can email me on johnnygtwildcat@gmail.com
