AGRICULTURAL XV TAKE ON WENSLEYDALE RUFC TO RAISE FUNDS FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

After the success of previous events an Agricultural Industry XV, created by GSC Grays and Genus will once again play Wensleydale Rugby Club in a pre-season friendly in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Kick-off is at 7pm on Friday 28 August 2015 at Wensleydale RFC near Leyburn.  

The initial idea for the match came from Colin Lucas of Genus, who has himself successfully recovered from cancer and was keen to add his support to the hard work and dedication he was shown by the Macmillan Cancer Support team.  The Agricultural Industry XV will consist of a number of local farmers, GSC Grays employees, Genus employees and clients and a number of others from the agricultural sector, including a vet and potato merchant!      

The match was fiercely contested and at a surprising pace with a late interception try flattering the scoreline which resulted in Wensleydale ending the match victorious, winning 27 – 12. 

Last year almost £1,500 was raised in aid of the Charity and our sincere thanks to all who gave so generously and supported the event. 

Food and drink will be available on the night and we look forward to welcoming everyone again for what promises to be a great evening.
