Like many families I have had the experience of a loved one being affected by cancer. When I first signed up to do this challenge it was because  a very dear friend's Mum was diagnosed with the disease.

Macmillan Cancer had been an invaluable support to her and her family and when I was asked to take part in the Inca Trail Trek in support of Macmillan Cancer I jumped at the chance.

However, on Friday 13th February  (Yes someone was taking the p*** that day!) my youngest son Jamie was diagnosed with having Hodgkin's lymphoma leaving us all shell shocked. Taking part in this challenge has suddenly taken on a much greater significance for me now.
