To help the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust to raise money for their new centre, we have decided to launch 'Give a Brick'. Many wonderful people have decided to join in with our fundraising initiatie 'The 333 Club', to raise £333 tog go towards the new centre. However, not everyone feels that it is achievable for them to raise £333, so we wanted to find a way that everyone could be involved.  

To erect a stabling block with 10 stables we require 8000 bricks. The bricks in Gambia are similar to what we know as breeze blocks. The cost of labour and materials to make one brick is approximately £1. 

So please count up the change in your pocket or wallet, and if you have enough to 'Give a Brick', please help us to raise the money needed by making your donation here. £1 is simply the cost of a large bag of crisps, a bottled drink, or a snack. PLEASE consider donating that £1 and forgoing your snack just for one day!

The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust are currently raising money to build a second centre in a more urban area of The Gambia, which will enable tens of thousands more horses, donkeys and their owners to be reached for help.

The new centre will have an equine veterinary clinic, provide lots of educational programmes about good animal management and welfare, and be a place where international students and professionals can come to help and learn. 

This is no mean feat during these difficult financial times, as a large amount of money is required. Please help if there is any way that you can - it will make a huge difference to the lives of many animals and people in The Gambia!
