We fundraise for medical & welfare supplies to aid the public in Glasgow City Centre

Story

GCU Law Society are excited to announce that for the month of March, we will be hosting a raffle with donations going to a brand new charity doing exceptional work for Glasgow’s Community!

Glasgow Street Aid are a newly-registered charity providing medical and welfare assistance in Glasgow city centre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7:30pm to midnight – situation dependent. Their aim is to take the pressure off our emergency services by providing urgent emergency care. They are a small team of first aiders and clinicians. They have been working throughout the pandemic and commonly deal with people experiencing homelessness, service users and youths. Over the last five months they have assisted over 180 people on the streets.

We are hoping to raise as much as possible to support Glasgow Street Aid in their goal of purchasing an ambulance and other essential medical equipment. They are a small charity, so every donation is greatly appreciated.

We have some exciting prizes lined up for the winners of the raffle which are not only unique, but also support some of Glasgow’s small, local businesses!

First prize will win:

  • Homemade cookies and treats from Heather at Choosing Happy (Instagram: @choosinghappy_)
  • A prize of their choice from the list below

Four other winners will be able to choose a prize of their choice from the list below!

Up for grabs we have:

  • A week of personalised, healthy meals from Doorstep
    Mealprep (@doorstep.mealprep on Instagram)
  • Personalised art commission from Gez Vinyl (Instagram:
    @gez_vinyl, Gez Vinyl on Facebook)
  • Alcohol hamper with donations from Julie Kane, Kelly McAulay, Wendy Hunt and others
  • £25 gift card from Happy Sad Designs for handmade
    jewellery (Instagram: @happysaddesigns)
  • Handmade wax melts from Sarah at Chic Unique Scents
    (Instagram: @chicuniquescents
  • Cut and blow dry from Debbie McGinty at Salon 28
    In Uddingston
  • Gift voucher from Cambuslang Diagnostics and MOT for a MOT
  • £20 voucher for custom skin, brow or lash treatments from Samra at Beam Beauty (Instagram: @__beambeauty)
  • Gift box of handmade accessories from Pauline at Rainbow Moonbeam Gifts (insta: @RainbowMoonbeamGifts)

The pandemic has, understandably, been hard for many businesses. We would be extremely grateful if you supported these businesses by giving them a follow on their social media; they have some amazing products to offer and something to suit everyone!

All donations are welcome but for a single entry it is a donation of £3, and donations of £10 (or more) will give you 5 entries.

The raffle will end on 31st March and the winners will be announced on 1st April! Results of the draw will be posted on the GCU Law Society social media pages, and we will also contact winners directly.

Please don’t forget to leave an email address or your social media that we can contact you on if you’re one of our lucky winners! Anonymous
donations will unable to be entered unless contact details are provided.

Good luck and thank you for your generosity!
