Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am planning to cycle 220 miles from Swindon to St Ives in Cornwall with 5 friends starting on Wednesday June 8th. Until 6 months ago I had not been on a bike in 25 years, so achieving this goal and for the reasons below, make this my driving force.
In doing this challenge I would like to raise money for the Prospect Hospice in memory of my mum June Sellars who passed away at the hospice in 2003 aged 61. Those who knew June will be aware of her passion for St Ives and may also have seen the memorial bench in her name that is alongside Porthminster Beach
I'm sure everyone is already aware of the level of care afforded to not only the patients but their families at the Prospect, but last year it cost £5million to deliver this care, of which 70% came through the support of the community including donations & fundraising. With 1600 people seeking their care last year the need to raise vital funds has never been greater.
Visit the website at www.prospect-hospice.net to find out about the care provided and other fundraising ideas.
