"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime"

I am collecting donations to advance the education of underprivileged children in South Africa. This region of the world is plagued by poverty and violence, but SOS Africa seeks to systemically change this for the better. They are doing this by providing students with the education they need to find or generate jobs in their country. I feel that this charity is unique among the many african based charities because of its transparency and choice to tackle poverty in a systemic way. I personally donate to and support one of their children and can vouch that any donation (no matter how big or small) will go very far in an impoverished country like South Africa.

Below are some examples of what your money can provide for a student in South Africa:

$30 - Will provide School Stationery for an SOS Africa child for a year. ($2.5 each month)

$60 - Will provide School Uniform for an SOS Africa child for a year.  ($5 each month)

$150 - Will provide Transportation for an SOS Africa child for a year. ($12.5 each month)

$300 - Will fund an After-School Care Programme for a child for a year. ($25 each month)

$360 - Will fund School Tuition for an SOS Africa child for a year. ($30 each month)

The funds raised from this campaign will be used to sponsor students currently enrolled in the program who have lost their program sponsor. If there are no such students then the funds will be used to sponsor a child in need and the money will be set aside for their education for years to come.
