Story
On Saturday 4th July 2015, following the huge success of the 2014 event which raised over £10,000 the Big Bike Bash returns to the roads of Calderdale.
A peloton of over 30 riders, all of whom are connected in some way to Ravenscliffe High School and the Ravenscliffe@SpringHall project, will tackle a 40 mile route raising money to equip the new centre.
Starting at Ravenscliffe, the team will head to the top of Cragg Vale via Ripponden, After a short tea break in Mytholmroyd, the peloton will then take in the best, and most challenging parts, of the Tour De France and Tour De Yorkshire routes. Travelling through Hebden Bridge towards Oxenhope before heading towards Wainstalls through to Halifax, out to Brighouse, then returning to the school in Skircoat Green via Copley along the canal.
Ravenscliffe@SpringHall will be a purpose built, fully accessible Sixth Form and Community Centre. Proposed to be situated at Spring Hall, Halifax, and with no impact on existing facilties, Ravenscliffe@SpringHall will provide learning and inclusion opportunities for young people with learning difficulties and disabilties, and the wider community. With state of the art educational facilties, a Community Cafe and community sports changing rooms, the new facility wil be one that all in Calderdale can be proud of. We have now secured the required investment for the building, and are now busy seeking the estimated £500,000 required to equip the centre to the highest standards.
