Story
The Friends of Hillcross are reaching out to ask for your help. The funds that they collectively raise from the events they run enable us to provide much needed resources for our school.
Saturday 27th June 2020 marked what would have been the school’s Summer Fair. This annual event is a time for the school community to come together, to celebrate and, most importantly, to raise money that is used to provide our children with enriched learning opportunities.
It is immensely disappointing that one of the many impacts of lockdown is the incredibly large dent in our annual fundraising. Based on previous years, we would have raised in the region of £10,000 during the spring and the summer term. The absence of our normal fundraising events will have a huge impact on the amount of financial help we can offer the school next year.
As has been suggested to us, we have set this Just Giving page where families can donate an amount – whatever they can afford – to help replace the funds that we have been unable to raise. It would be very much appreciated if you can give a portion of what you would have spent at the events we were due to run:
- Spring and Summer Fairs
- Father’s Day Raffle
- Fashion Show
- Summer Term Disco
- Ice Cream Sales
If you would prefer to get your children more involved in something for the community, there is a choice between either making a straight-forward donation or to fundraise for us. So if any children want to do tasks to raise money e.g. make dinner or do the washing up for a week (here's hoping!) or even run round their garden 50 times, that's also an option.
Thank you all in advance for your support and contribution. We really look forward to seeing you at a face-to-face event in the near future.
Best Wishes,
Hillcross Primary School
