Freddy's 75 mile challenge · 8 July 2014

We aim to raise £220,000 as a contribution towards refurbishing & re-equipping the science laboratories, providing flood lighting for the tennis courts & the creation of a new food technology laboratory. We ask that parents, pupils, past & present join together to help us achieve our goal!

Story

Freddy in Year 5 (just 10 years old)  will be undertaking his incredible challenge over the next nine weeks…

Describe your Challenge.

My challenge started yesterday, I am aiming to run 75 miles by the end of the summer holidays.

Why this Challenge?

I chose this challenge because running has always had a special place in my heart, ever since my mum asked if I would like to go on a run with her when I was 8 years old. I participate in parkrun (a 5k run) every Saturday, and have completed 81 of them so far! I hope this challenge will help me beat my PB.

What do you hope to achieve?

I hope to beat my PB in parkrun and raise funds for the school.

What do your friends and family think?

My parents think it is a good opportunity to train for the park run. My middle brother thinks I should try my hardest. My little sister Esme thinks it is a good opportunity to rock the really cool hat my big sister bought me in Italy.  My biggest brother is always really supportive.

How are you feeling about your challenge?

I am confident and nervous at the same time.
