Story
At the start of lockdown on 27th March 2020 we put a tent up in the garden. The then 9 year old Freddie asked to sleep in it for a few nights, and despite the fact that it was still frosty at night and bitterly cold, and no one else would sleep out there with him, he packed his sleeping bag, plenty of blankets and his teddies for company and out he went. 220 days later and it's the start of November. He’s now 10, has still not spent a night in his bed in the house, and is challenging himself to stay out there for a year!! The worst of the weather is yet to come. His tent was destroyed by Storm Aiden and he relocated to the shed until it could be replaced.
As this Covid pandemic continues more and more people are living in poverty. Many are unable to feed their children or themselves, and more and more people are looking to food banks for help.
Freddie says "It is not fair that many children have to live off school meals due to the fact that their parents can't afford enough food for their families. When my mum found "The Trussell Trust" I immediately wanted to raise some money for them to continue their work on getting food to people in need."
Please help Freddie to support this amazing charity, The Trussell Trust, to stop hunger in the UK.
Last year, food banks in our network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us. With your help #ThisCanChange
