Story
It has been a long time ambition of mine to run the London Marathon and being able to tick something off your “bucket list” is a privilege that is not afforded to many.
I have only ever run one marathon before which was ten years ago in Edinburgh during an intense heatwave. Since then I have sadly had close family members and friends who have had been in need of hospice care. During these times I have been absolutely inspired by the practical support, services offered and by the kindness and caring provided by local hospices. Dying with dignity is the final right and respect we can give anyone and I am so grateful a hospice place was available for my loved ones when needed. To ensure others in need can access the same care when they need it most I have decided to turn a personal goal into something that I know will benefit many others by fundraising for Hospice UK who support more than 200 hospices across the UK and who care for over 200,000 adults and children every year.
My fundraising target is £2000 and while I recognise it is a steep target to hit it’s for a great cause that would provide a wide range of help and support to patients and their family members at the worse time of their lives. Any contribution would be most gratefully received, if you are able to help at all please donate. .
Thank you
