On New Years Day in 2020, an old school friend of mine, and her new partner were murdered by her ex-husband.

I had not seen Helen in many years and we were only connected by social media at that point, but we grew up together through Primary and Secondary School and were leading similar lives and shared experiences.

Her death was a shock to all who knew her and in the years that have followed, I have thought about her and her family a lot. 

Helen was a runner, like me and I am planning a bigger running challenge than I have ever done before, as a tribute to her and the many women like her and families like hers, who's lives are shattered by Domestic Violence.
