Story
Please help me to raise funds to support Alzheimer’s Society in their work to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society ‘are the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers’ and they ‘touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers’. I appreciate the importance of their work from professional and personal points of view as I worked as a Dementia Nurse Consultant for 3 years and my favorite aunt has dementia – or as she refers to it as - ‘memory problems’.
Please support Alzheimer's Society's work by sponsoring me to cut my hair. As you will see from the photo it has been many, many years since I had short hair and it will be a big step for me to cut my flowing mane! But with your support I hope to raise lots of funds for such a worthwhile cause. My haircut will take place during Dementia Awareness Week 18 - 24 May 2014 and I will post more details nearer the time in case you want to watch the big event! As well as sponsoring me do please consider spreading the word about Dementia Awareness Week and the Alzheimer’s Society as dementia affects so many people, with numbers in the UK expected to double in the next 40 years.
Now, if you would consider doubling your sponsorship I just MIGHT be persuaded to shave my facial hair also – but I will need a lot of persuading to do that! Please give generously – no donation too small as it all adds up. THANK YOU! For more details about the Alzheimer’s Society:
