Frank (Junaid) Thames Meander Marathon page

On 22nd March 2019 whilst on holiday, my father-in-law, (Aboo) suffered from a haemorrhagic stroke. Three days later he passed away and our lives changed forever! It was totally unexpected and the loss I feel to this day, is as profound as when I first received the news.
Aboo was an intellect, an artist and an orator who lived life to the fullest. His breadth of knowledge was remarkable and admirable, ranging from history, geography, general knowledge, politics to the arts and music. We would spend hours just talking and laughing.
On his passing, I looked more into stroke and found that my father-in law had suffered an acute cerebral haemorrhage where a blood vessel inside the skull had burst and bled into and around the brain, as a result, two thirds of his brain cells had been damaged and the man who was his brain, was no more!
I have therefore, chosen to do the Thames Meander (26.2 miles) marathon run to honour the life of the man whom I respected and admired so dearly.
All funds raised will help Stroke Association in rebuilding the lives of stroke survivors.
