Story
The Francis Construction team are taking on No5's 5K in May challenge to help them raise £5k to support young people's mental health. The 5K challenge will involve team members completing 5K by run, walk, ride or swim.
No5's target amount of £5,000 will pay for an additional 150 counselling sessions for young people in need of support with their mental health.
Why have we chosen No5?
No5 has been supporting children and young people in Reading and the surrounding area since 1971. They are a community- based organisation with all counselling sessions provided by fully trained volunteer counsellors. There are currently 28 counsellors offering over 80 sessions, five days a week. Their volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds but all share a commitment to supporting children and young people.
Over the last few years there has been a year-on-year increase in demand for No5's services, and they continue to grow and develop to meet the ever changing needs of young people in our area. In the last 6 months, 439 young people and their families have asked No5 for help. This is an increase of 123% on the same period last year.
