I do have a just giving and a tcs page. You can donate on either, and both will go to BHF. I just prefer to use just giving as you can write inspirational messages to me which will help with my training. 

In June 2022 I lost my dad unexpectedly from heart failure. It was a shock to us all and has left a huge hole in our family. My dad was a very athletic man when he was younger, he completed iron men, marathons and competed for England in triathlons. He was always telling us the importance of keeping fit and staying active. Unfortunately my dad didn't listen to his own advice as he got older. He didn't visit the doctors when all the signs were there of increased heart disease. I am sure there are people you know dealing with the same issue, and living undiagnosed. 

Heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of all deaths in the UK, that's 160,000 deaths each year, 460 deaths each day or one every three minutes in the UK.
30,000 cardiac arrests in the uk every year are out of hospital and have a survival rate of 1 in 10. 7.6 million people are living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK.

I am running this marathon not only to raise money to help those who have been affected by this horrible disease. But I'm also running to raise awareness of the importance of looking after yourself and getting checked. Being overweight, stress and bad diet is the main cause of this disease, all things which are preventable with awareness and attention. Hopefully my dad and me running this marathon, will inspire others to get active and healthy.
