Why? Now here comes the difficult bit!!
Since I stopped amateur racing in 2013 (forced sabbatical because of finances) I have lost a mother, an uncle and a friend to this terrible disease called CANCER. Also lost an aunt about 10 years ago. Earlier on this year I thought I would do something positive to raise awareness and some money for Cancer Research UK to help fight this disease.
What am I doing?
Well... I thought it I would challenge myself and step on-board a sidecar or two plus a couple of vintage bikes I'd never ridden before!
Am I nuts?
Now if you have seen these bikes you will probably know that what I am doing is NUTS!!! (0-60mph in 3 seconds!) I chose the Annual Ivor Thomas Memorial event (held at Sittingbourne Speedway, Iwade, Kent, UK) to do this mad feat because Ivor Thomas died from cancer to. I thought doing this in memory of Ivor as well would be a fitting tribute.
