Story
I've always wondered what my grandparents would have been like if I'd have had the chance to know them as an adult. What conversations would we have had? What memories would they have shared? What new memories would we have made together? All that should have been possible but regrettably, both my dad’s parents endured a long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
I recently learned one out of three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime unless life changing treatments are found. How terrifying is that?!
Now more than ever, organisations like Alzheimer’s Research UK need our support. Covid has caused a huge drop in funding opportunities and resulted in groundbreaking projects being delayed or cancelled. Having had first hand experience with how devastating and ruthless Alzheimer’s and dementia is I want to make a difference and I need your help.
I’ll be attempting to fly the full length of the UK from John O’Groats to Land’s End on a paramotor. At over 800+ miles and travelling an average of 30mph it’s expected to take around 27 hours of flight time, spread over a week period. Most paramotor pilots average 30 hours flight time in a full year of flying. It’s going to be tough fighting weather conditions, terrain changes, and with the mental and physical challenge of flying up to 6 hours a day from sunrise to sunset.
Please help make a difference by donating to this Flight Against Alzheimer’s, any contribution will help change lives.
