Story
To celebrate this great occasion we are asking for donations to Brainwaves NI, a charity close to our hearts. As most of you already know Steve underwent two Awake Brain surgeries, however what some don't know is that he had a 3rd awake surgery in July 2020. He was the first person into an operating room after Covid and also the first to ungo a Third surgery like this. Due to covid we could not visit Steve and this was an extremely traumatising time for him and all of us as a family. So now it's time to celebrate with all our loved ones, what better way to do this only by marking the unreal milestone of my amazing supportive mother and father's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
We have significantly valued the support from Brainwaves team and Steve himself with the support and guidance of this charity has since coached others getting ready to go through this horrendous journey.
Brainwaves NI was established in 1994. It is the only brain tumour charity in Northern Ireland run by a committee of volunteers. It is a research and support charity and relies totally on donations, there being no government grants or assistance. In the last seven years the charity has provided funding of over £500,000 to the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, Queen’s University. Brain Cancer Research is under-funded with only 1% of national spend on cancer research going towards it.”
