Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I wanted to be a model for the day, and after fighting this disease for 7 years, what better charity to benefit from me living out one of my life dreams :)
My Story.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 31 August 2006 aged 49. I had to have Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. 2007 was the year of ‘the birthdays’! I was 50 in the January, my daughter was 21 in the February and my son was 18 in the August! Needless to say it was a strange year! On 3rd June 2008, which was our 25 Wedding Anniversary, I returned home from hospital after having had reconstruction surgery. Approaching the 4th anniversary of diagnosis, I became unwell at the end of August 2010 and tests showed that this cancer had returned. I had to undergo Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy again from January to July in 2011. Holidays curtailed in 2011. I was also prescribed an elasticated sleeve in June 2011. It appeared again in May 2013 just in time for our 30th wedding anniversary and I am now going through the usual routine.
I have met a lot of good people who have been touched by this disease and I would like to show that if you have the care and support of loved ones, and a positive attitude, you can still enjoy life!
It’s not the end of the world! It’s just a different, difficult road you’ve got to take and keep a positive attitude!
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read my tale and I appreciate your support.
