Story

Hello, thank you for visiting my justgiving page. I’m doing a charity skydive to raise money for Parkinson's UK this is in support of my Dad who has Parkinson’s disease.

I chose a skydive as if this last couple of years has taught me anything, watching my dad deteriorate at the hands of this terrible disease and the pandemic that has changed so much for so many people, we have to try enjoy life and push ourselves.

I hope this will give him something to look forward to watching and let him know how much support he has around him. It’s not been easy for him or my mum, everyday can bring a new challenge to deal with.

A skydive is something I have always thought I may like but it will push me out of my comfort zone, so I've never pushed myself to follow it through. While my dad and many others are  having to battle through struggles everyday, this shouldn’t feel so big.

So now I think why not! and while I’m doing it, try and  raise some money for a charity close to my heart to help find a cure for this cruel disease.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive  nervous system disorder with no cure. It’s a cruel disease taking over the persons body and mind.

I will be doing the jump in March to give me some time to try raise as much money and awareness as I can, so any donations would be much appreciated and mean so much to me.

A bit about the charity Parkinson's UK;

We are Parkinson's UK. Powered by people. Funded by you. Improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Together we'll find a cure.

Parkinson's is a progressive brain condition, which means it gets worse over time. There are lots of different treatments and therapies to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson's but at the moment there is no cure .

Every hour two people in the UK are told they have Parkinson's that equates to 1 in 350 Adults have Parkinson's, which is 145,000 in total in the UK.
It is estimated that by 2065 the number of people living with Parkinson's will have doubled.
