Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2022 I lost my friend Helen to cancer. Helen was vibrant, active, kind and gentle with a sharp wit and remarkable intelligence. I am so glad that Helen came into my life and I will always remember fondly our many exploits with our comrades in arms, as we navigated our way though life. Helen was also a much loved daughter, sister, cousin, auntie and colleague and her passing is a tragedy to all who knew her.
Helen was always amused at my exploits on the running field, as I took up the sport in my early 50's. When I complained about my many running acquired injuries, I got no sympathy just the comment "I told you exercise was bad for you".
I am now raising money in her memory for our Lady's Hospice & Care Services, Harolds Cross who provided such wonderful care to my friend during her final months. I am running the VHI Women's Mini Marathon in June. I know that Helen will be with me every step of the way, still thinking I am mad but proud that I am doing it for such a worthy cause.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my friend Helen and for your support to such a worthy cause.
