This is a huge personal challenge to run a marathon, yet it will be so worthwhile to be able to raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause.

I have some lovely friends who have survived domestic violence, and are now living free from fear and abuse because they were able to escape. It took a lot of courage as well as the realisation that they deserved to be treated better than that. Refuge was an important and valuable help, enabling them to make a fresh start.

Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety.

The aim of Refuge is to empower women and children to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear. They provide a range of life-saving services, and a voice for the voiceless.
