Story
The blisters from last year are a distant memory, and after saying never again, I am going to walk 100k again, this time along the South Downs over the August bank holiday weekend, which will be even more challenging than the previous 100k due to the ups and downs!
I’m doing this for Jude. Since last year, Jude has been certified blind, continues to have multiple seizures throughout the day from drug resistant epilepsy, has lymphodema , limited movement, suffers frequent pneumonia and ear infections, and he has a small brain which is missing the corpus callosum. . It is difficult to see him going through so much, even more so when we watch his twin brother Arthur developing more and more each day. Despite all of this Jude remains a happy child, and part of this is because there are people out there who care. Stephen takes Jude to Whoopsadaisy once a week where the wonderful staff strive to push Jude to his full potential. We already see Jude doing small things that we never thought possible through their determination and dedication. Whoopsadaisy receive no statutory funding and so are entirely reliant on donations from grants, trusts, individuals, community groups and businesses. In 2016 in order to maintain the vital service they provide to so many families they need to raise at least £140,000.
We don’t know what the future holds for Jude, but if I can take two days out of my life to raise awareness and money for a charity that we have seen benefiting Jude and many other children, whose parents and children have since become our friends, I can rest a little easier knowing I have done a tiny bit.
Thank you..
