Story

You might have heard about Marathon du Medoc?

Yes its a marathon- 26.2 miles....

And yes you run through beautiful Bordeaux's vineyards.....

And yes you do have the option of sampling wine as well as water on the way round.....!

Either way its a challenge- hopefully a fun one, therefore any donation, whatever size to help us towards our target would be hugely appreciated.

We are running for "Health Improvement Project Zanzibar (HIPZ). This small charity was set up from the west country in 2006 by a hero surgeon called Ru MacDonaugh, who after working on the island saw first hand the need for change. In a unique 10 year partnership with Zanzibar's Ministry of Health, HIPZ took on the running of 2 out of the 3 hospitals on the island- Mackunduchi in the south in 2007 and Kivunge in the North in 2012, delivering healthcare to around 300,000 people.

Fiona worked as a volunteer doctor for HIPZ during 2013-2014 in Kivunge hospital hence our special involvement with the charity. The achievements to date are truly inspiring- for more information please go to www.hipz.org.uk, and please be assured that your donation will go far in developing and maintaining health care for the Zanzibari people.
