Story
Well I did it! On Saturday 25th September 2010 I completed my first ever Triathlon. I've been raising money for The Prostrate Cancer Charity and have now exceeded my target of £500! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far - it's not too late if you haven't! Let's see how much we can raise!
I managed to complete the course - 100m swim, 4km cycle, 1.3km run in the 8-10 year old section (the "Elizabeth I" race) of the Hever Castle Triathlon (http://www.castletriathlonseries.co.uk/The_Series/Hever_Castle.htm). I still can't quite believe I've done it!
The water was really cold - 15.5 degrees celsius. That was the worst part, but somehow I managed to keep going and finished 9th out of 26 in my "wave" - 57th out of 139 overall. It took me 38 minutes and 37.4 seconds and I was VERY glad when it was all over. Chunky kit kat (thanks Gigi!) never tasted so good at the end.
A massive thank you once again to all who've given generously so far. Next year I'll be better prepared and hopefully the water will be warmer - I'm going to make sure Dad does it too next time!
