Story
Dear All,
Thank you very much for taking time to visit my page. My name is Felicity and I am 14 years old. I am attempting something that I have always dreamed off: a Channel Relay at the end of August. I am lucky enough to be in a relay with 5 other girls my age.
Swimming the Channel is the "Everest" of swimming events. It is not just about swimming ability and strength (although that is very important). It is also about having the right mind set to succeed when times can get tough e.g jellyfish, swimming in the dark and the tides changing. It will take a lot of determination.
I started training in Dover along with my team in May. It has been very hard and very cold but a vital part for the big swim. We have all had to complete a 2 hour qualifier in water temperature of 14 degrees which was both mentally and physically challenging. We have carried on doing lots of training to make sure that on the day we are well prepared and ready to complete our challenge.
I have decided to do this challenge in aid of Make a Wish. This is a really important charity that grants a child with a serious illness a well deserved wish. This wish helps create memories for the child and their family. It also makes the child happy as they are doing something that they have always dreamed of. But most importantly it gives the child hope and helps them keep fighting for their life. All your money will go to making the child's wish come true.I really hope that you dig deep into your pockets to support this lovely charity.
Thank you for your support,
Felicity Challinor
