John's passion for restoring and racing classic cars started from an early age. His genuine love of anything mechanical was a huge part of his life, he took every opportunity to both help and inspire others.

StarterMotor supports the work of organisations like the Heritage Skills Academy based at Bicester Heritage. This is where scores of historic car apprentices are trained and qualify as engineers. The accreditation is Government approved and endorsed by businesses throughout the sector. The present Covid-19 pandemic has created a crisis. The opportunities to learn and be tested have pretty well disappeared. Most students have either been laid off or furloughed. With partner Hero ERA we are determined to support these apprentices by providing learning opportunities and incentives and by encouraging employers to stand by this next generation.
