Story
I have known about the amazing work of the Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association since it was founded and know - or knew - many of its founding members. It’s a wonderful organisation which keeps alive the memories of those who suffered and died during the Holocaust. I decided to devote my annual charity cycle ride to HSFA this year because the wonderful and extraordinary permanent exhibition at Huddersfield University needs further financial support to continue its vital work.
I’m setting off from the University on Thursday 25th August and hope to complete the 100km - or 62 miles - in just one day. It’s a hilly route via Sheffield so I will be training hard for the ride. Please be generous and help me raise my target of £2000. I’m also remembering the lives of Lillian Black, one of the founders or the HSFA, and my own Great-Grandmother, Raina Sévilla, who was murdered at Birkenau in July 1942.
Sustaining the future of Holocaust education has never been so important. Donations enable our charity us to continue our educational work based at our Holocaust Exhibition and Learning Centre and to provide practical and emotional support to our survivor community.
