It is a long time since I wanted to do the Way of St James (el Camino) beginning in France & finishing in Santiago de Compostela and covering almost 900 kilometres along northern Spain. However I never found the right moment to do it, or it was maybe that I did not find a proper motivation.

Pilgrims walk the Camino for religious, spiritual or even cultural reasons. Some to seek penance, others enlightenment, or simply for fun or a sense of adventure. Regardless of whether a pilgrim’s journey begins reasons, the Camino, by its nature, may serve also as a tool to help those suffering.

Last year a relative of mine was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her life and her dedication to her family and friends are a source of inspiration for me & many others. I have decided to mirror her bravery and courage challenging myself by cycling solo the Camino in winter time when in northern Spain everything is possible trying to increase the difficulty. I therefore expect a tough Camino but not as the one she is going through.

I will set off for Spain on Tuesday 29th of January and begin the Camino the following day.

Buen Camino!

"20 Years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover" - (Mark Twain)

¡EXPLORA! ¡SUEÑA! ¡DESCUBRE!” (Mark Twain)
