Hi, I’m Matty, I have been a Firefighter for Humberside Fire & Rescue Service for just over a year now and I have decided to run the London Marathon in April 2024 in support of the Firefighters Charity.

I’ve picked this charity as it supports both present and past members of the UK Fire Service. Whether that’s through mental health, physical health or social support. 

 As Firefighters we deal with a lot of distressing incidents, the Firefighters charity helps by offering support to overcome mental battles which we can face. The charity is personalised to each individual and the challenges they are facing.

The charity is important to all Firefighters and I want to be able to give something back to show my support.
