Story

This year, FEC Energy is celebrating its 50th anniversary and we intend to make it our biggest and best year yet.

To celebrate this milestone we are holding a number of events in order to raise money for Mind, the charity chosen by our team.

Back on the 5th July 1967, at the Royal Show, Stoneleigh, the Queen Mother came to open our original office. At that time, the business was called the Farm Electric Centre. Since then we have expanded to not only help farming businesses but also commercial and industrial customers. We consolidated our farming and non-farming businesses last year and rebranded as FEC Energy. Staff numbers are now 25 and we are still growing!

Walking 50 miles around Warwickshire

Stoneleigh Park is a lovely place to work, with many routes for walks. Many of us head out for lunchtime walks, one of the regular groups is Jenny, Jen and Jodie who are often seen out walking Ruby, Jenny’s little dog. With this in mind, we will be walking 50 miles around the Warwickshire countryside. The 50 miles won’t actually be walked in one go… we will, in fact, be breaking the 50 miles up into 10 five mile walks as follows:

Who's taking part:

  • Jenny Beynon
  • Jen Elves
  • Max Knowles and family
  • Oli Coe
  • Elisa Evans
  • Tay Bishop
  • Denise Hobman
  • Ben Ablewhite
  • Andrew Morbey

50 mile cycle ride

At least 4 members of staff cycle to work regularly. In fact, Ed even cycled in from Tewksbury, which is a 90 mile round trip. With this in mind Jon has planned a 50 mile bike ride around the Warwickshire countryside on the 8th July, starting and finishing at Stoneleigh Park.

Who's taking part:

  • Jon Swain
  • Ed Hardy
  • Oli Coe
  • Thomas Wilkins
  • Andrew Kneeshaw
  • Mick Orr
  • Elisa Evans

When:

  • 8th July

 Wolf Run

In September members of our team will be running through mud, water and sliding over obstacles as part of the Wolf Run. This is a 10k off-road run that features a series of man-made and natural obstacles. Our very own wolf pack will be taking part in the run held on the first weekend in September at Welsh Road Farm in Warwickshire.

We are training for this in many different ways… For example, Ed is regularly competing in triathlons and Elisa is doing the Insanity workout programme.

Who's taking part:

  • Ewelina Glista
  • Ed Hardy
  • Jenny Beynon
  • Elisa Evans
  • Ben Watson
  • Candace Robb
  • Ashley Brankin
  • Bernie Collins
  • Andrew Morbey

When:

  • 3rd September

FEC Energy Bake-off

Jodie Hisgett is our very own Mary Berry here at FEC Energy and she is seriously handy with a piping bag. So we have challenged Jodie to our very own Bake-off, with guest judge Nicola Reece from Stoneleigh Park’s Farmers Fayre shop and café.

Who's taking part:

  • Tay Bishop
  • Jen Elves
  • Elisa Evans
  • Oli Coe
  • Jenny Beynon
  • Jodie Hisgett

When:

  • 10th April - Signature bake
    • Hot Cross buns
  • 15th May - Technical Challenge
    • To be announced
  • 19th June - Show Stopper

We will be selling our creations for anyone working at Stoneleigh Park.

Party On the 8th July we will be throwing a big birthday bash with a BBQ, live music and cake for our friends and family.
