Story
Bishop Fleming LLP are proud to be corporate sponsors of Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) and for the second year our Truro office has named them as our Charity of the Year.
Cornwall Air Ambulance fly over 800 lifesaving missions each year and rely on donations to keep going. Cornwall is a big county - on a good day it takes 2 hours to reach Land's End from the Devon border (much longer in the summer when we are blessed with so many visitors). The average on scene flight time for the helicopter is just 12 minutes - they are a vital part of Cornwall's infrastructure and save countless lives each year.
CAAT are currently raising £2.5m to fund a new next-generation helicopter - the AW169 - twice the fuel range, faster, more efficient, and much more medically and technologically advanced. The new helicopter is planned for April 2020 and your donations will go directly to this appeal, future proofing flying missions for the next 20 years.
I have set myself two physical challenges in 2019 to help raise £500 for the CAAT Heli Appeal - the first is to run the Bath Half Marathon on 17th March - this is in preparation for an attempt at the Three Peaks Challenge in June - climbing the UK's three highest mountains (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in just 24 hours. I will be joined by colleagues from Bishop Fleming on both challenges as we attempt to raise £100,000 for charities in our centenary year.
