Story
Hi everyone! I’ve seen a few people take on this challenge for a variety of charities and it really inspired me to attempt it as well. Over the month of April, I will be running 100 miles (161km) to raise funds for Age Scotland.
I began working in care during the first lockdown in Scotland. As a result, I very quickly became acutely aware of problems regarding isolation and loneliness within the elderly community. I have become very passionate about these issues which have been heightened as a result of the pandemic.
Age Scotland offer a huge range of support to the elderly community but particularly, through lockdown, they have been able to provide a service called the friendship line. Basically, this involves a weekly call to any older person who is feeling lonely or isolated. It gives them the chance to get support and advice; or even just to talk to someone, which is something many of the older community have had to go without since the beginning of the pandemic.
I understand these have been tough times for everyone so if I can, I’d like to help to make even the smallest difference for those who are particularly vulnerable. If you would like to donate, it would be so much appreciated. Sharing the link for my JustGiving page would also be appreciated!
Thank you 💛
