Story
Team Bolton at Home are trekking to Everest Base Camp!
Edward successfully completed the trek in 2022 and, undeterred by how hard it was, Vicki will be joined by Owen and Steve to head off to tackle the trek in March 2023.
We are supporting Reuben's Retreat, a charity born out of the loss of a beautiful boy, Reuben Michael Graham in 2012 who passed away at just 23 months old. They support families who have lost a child and those who face an uncertain future due to their child living with a life threatening or life limiting condition. They are currently renovating their forever home in stages to create a holiday home from home for families to visit together and make precious memories with their children. Every penny & pound donated will enable them to take a step closer to completing their retreat and providing a sanctuary for families who desperately need that special time together.

Bolton at Home originally selected two 'lucky' volunteers to take on the challenge of the trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Edward and Vicki will join the group to make the 15 day trek, starting from the world's most dangerous airport at Lukla, Nepal. The trek will involve sleeping in sub-zero temperatures, trekking some steep terrain, crossing dizzying suspension bridges, no showers and the threat of altitude sickness so will be an experience but more importantly, with your support, we can raise lots of money for this wonderful charity. Every penny you can donate will really make a difference and spur us on with our preparations and on the trek itself. We were originally due to go in March 2021 but the pandemic meant we were unable to travel so we were postponed until April 2022. Then it got even more complicated as we were postponed again but, unable to make the trip next year, Edward and Anne went as planned in April 2022 (and smashed it!) and Vicki will travel with new team members Owen and Steve along with rest of the team in March 2023.
