Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you may already be aware for the past 4 months I have been donning my lycra and jumping on my bike at every opportunity to enable me to complete my challenge for 2010. Last July I spotted an advert for the Ride Across Britain 2010 and immediately thought - "I want to do that!" So I entered the following morning and found out more about this crazy challenge!
On the 12th June 2010, I will set off from John O'Groats along with 600 other cyclists and over the course of the following 9 days we will travel down the country covering an average of 115 miles each day, passing through some of the most beautiful and challenging countryside Britain has to offer (the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District and the many ups and downs of Devon and Cornwall). Having survived (hopefully!) just over 1000 miles I will ride triumphantly to the famous sign at Lands End on the afternoon of 20th June.
To help motivate me into training on wet and cold days, I have decided to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. Their fundamental support is to cancer patients offering them the services of specialist healthcare professionals as well as logistical support to help deal with the day to day problems that cancer can cause. They support families, carers and communities affected by cancer by offering information, emotional support and building cancer centres. The work they do is nothing short of amazing and my JOGLE ride aims to help this worthy cause by raising as much money as possible.
If you would like more information about Macmillan and what they do then please follow this link: www.macmillan.org.uk
So please dig deep and donate now. If you're interested in keeping track of my progress during the ride please send me your email address and I will forward you my daily updates.
Thanks so much for your support.
