Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I've been running on and off for a few years now, and so many people will say that this isn't much of a challenge for me. But believe me, there's a massive difference between running a 5km a couple of times per week and training to run 26.2 miles. You have to train in bad weather for 99% of the time, you have to make sure you're giving your body enough nutrition and the right kind of food, you plan your week around how to fit your runs in between holding down a job and sleeping. You put your life on hold for 4 months. And on top of that, you have to find the motivation to stay focused and not give up. The training is painful on every level.
This is something that I want to do for myself, and that to me is important after what I've been through. To rebuild yourself is hard. To train alone is hard. To do anything worth doing is hard. And that's why I'm here right now doing this.
That being said, I have a ballot place but some worthy cause needs to benefit from my pain. There are so many out there, it was genuinely hard to decide which one needed me the most but it was a natural choice when a couple of lovely people, who probably know me better than I realise, told me to keep it close to my heart.
The Dogs Trust are a truly amazing charity and give so many dogs a second chance at finding a forever home. For all the animals lovers out there, I know you will really appreciate how a pet isn't really a pet, but it's a member of your family, and I hope to recruit my new family from the Dogs Trust very soon.
So please help me through my journey and make all of this pain worthwhile. All donations are very much appreciated and in return I will post updates and photos whenever I can.
Many thanks,
Esther
