It's time for me to go on my next big adventure, and this is the most challenging one I have attempted so far. During 2 months in the summer of 2012, a team of 5 students from the University of St Andrews will cycle across the continent of Africa. 

It is going to be a long and tough cycle with roughly 100 km a day in the saddle. Starting off in Beira in Mozambique, traveling though the mountainous terrain up to Lake Malawi, continuing through Zimbabwe and Zambia to Victoria Falls then heading down through Botswana and the Okovango Delta to finish at the coastal town of Walvis bay, Namibia. 

It is going to be a fantastic adventure, however the reason behind it is to fundraise for the University of St Andrews Charities Campaign and for the One Foundation. Both charities as very deserving and we are very excited to support their causes. The One Foundation funds "Playpumps", they are mostly placed by schools and pump up clean water to the communities around them. As a part of our trip we are going to cycle past a pump sponsored by the Universities' One Water branch. It will be a perfect opportunity to see with our own eyes the outcome of charitable work, like this trip, and how it improves the lives of others. 

So every penny helps and a donation from you would make all the difference in our challenge.
