Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the government hospitals in Malawi, births are free but inaccessible for rural villages. Local clinics are therefore the first point of call to give birth, where it costs £5 to safely deliver a child in a clinic. Your donation covers the cost to give birth in a clinic safely, but a further £25 will provide them with the birthing kit they need for a safe labour. The £25 birthing pack contains essential items such as wrappers, candles, razors, hygiene items etc.
In 2020 alone, Doctors Worldwide was able to effectively use birthing kits to safely deliver 403 babies. Furthermore, they were also able to provide postnatal care to 623 mothers and antenatal care to 1,719 mothers in Malawi using the Life Saving Fund.
If we reach our target, we would be supporting the safe delivery of 100 healthy babies.
