Story
Hey so as most of you know I will be taking part in the London Revolution cycle in May - I will be cycling 185 miles around London in 2 days or at least that's the plan! Not being much of a cyclist before this is a real challenge for me and I have recently purchased an awesome new bike that I have lovingly called Skye - we having been commuting together to work for a few weeks now and have started to forge a strong bond - well Skye's saddle and my bottom have ;) I have also acquired a new fear of London drivers and an impressive array of bruises on my shins (not sure quite what I am doing wrong).
So why am I doing this? Well two fold - one because it is always good to push yourself and two because that's exactly what my niece Keira will be doing In July when she takes part in the British Transplant Games for the first time. Keira was 5 when she had her liver transplant at Kings Hospital and she continues to amaze and inspire me as she goes from strength to strength. I am trying to raise money for the King's Children's Transplant Team (Team code H30002*) which Keira will be a part of - the money will go directly to helping to cover the costs of sending the children and their families to the Games in Liverpool. Keira is so excited and has already started her own 'training' regime which she does during her break times at school.
The Games is a wonderful celebration of the gift of a transplant and of all the remarkable recipients who go on to live full and inspiring lives.
Any donation you are able to make will be greatly appreciated.
Love and hugs to you all
