Alzheimer's Society - Cycle London to Paris 2011 · 14 September 2011 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So, why am I doing this challenge?  As an Alzheimer's Society employee, every day I see how cruel dementia is, not only to the person with the disease but to the family too.  So I want to do something to help - raising funds for local services to improve the quaility of life for carers and the person with dementia seems like a good idea.

Secondly, a family member has Alzheimer's Disease and although she is coping brilliantly this disease has already stripped her of some skills and confidence.  So, this is also for her and her family.

Thirdly, I love a challenge!  Raising money has given me a real sense of purpose and feels wonderful to give something back.
