Story
Hi All
I am doing a Skydive in July this year, along with 12 other people, to raise money for the Sarcoma Trust.
Claudia is the one who got me into this, i have copied below a snippet from her JustGiving page so you can see why we are doing the Skydive:
"As most of you are probably aware, Chris discovered a lump in his thigh in November 2009. After having it removed at Kettering General Hospital on 24th December 2009, it was sent off for histology and the devastating news came back that it was indeed malignant, and was a soft tissue sarcoma. He was referred to a fantastic consultant in Leicester, who specialises in this rare cancer and on 19th February this year, he had what is called a wider excision from where the tumour was, to remove 2cm of good tissue from all around it to make sure that all the cancerous cells had been removed. This was a big operation where quite a bit of skin and muscle was removed from his right leg.
He is now recovering from his surgery, and has to have 7 weeks of radiotherapy in Northampton, which will then be followed by scans every 3 months to make sure that everything is still all clear.
This has been a time that has been an absolute nightmare for us as a family, and we want to give something back to help to raise much needed funds, and awareness for The Sarcoma Trust. I decided that I wanted to do a Skydive...well, if you're going to do something, do something big!!! I asked my brother, Damon, if he wanted to do it with me...and much to my surprise he said yes! So him, myself and 12 other mad (but wonderful) friends are all doing a skydive on Saturday 24th July 2010 at Peterborough. Everyone is welcome to come over and witness the no doubt hilarious jumps....well, with Damon, Albert and Cart, there's bound to be a few laughs along the way!"
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
