Story
Myself, Lorraine and Megan Royal along with Clair Lindsey will be doing a skydive on the 28th September in memory of our Aunty Linda. While Clair and Lorraine can't wait to take the leap, myself and Megan are doing something which we vowed NEVER to do. However, after losing Aunty Linda very recently and hearing the amazing care and support provided by St Raphaels Hospice, we feel that jumping from a plane at 13000ft is a walk in the park when compared to the heart ache of losing someone close to you. We are doing this as much for Uncle Micky, Paul, Jason and Sam as we are for Aunty Linda. I know they value the support they received from St Raphaels and we would like to raise what we can to help the hospice care for other families also in need of support in times of great heart ache.
Each year St Raphael’s Hospice supports around 900 patients and families. A total of £4 million a year has to be raised to run the hospice, of which between 70% & 75% relies on charity fundraising, donations and legacies, so about £3 million a year is needed from charity fundraising. This is largely done through local fundraising events organised by volunteers.
