Story
UPDATE: 04.05.10
I would just like to thank EVERYONE who sponsored, donated and supported me throughout my training for the Virgin London Marathon. I completed the marathon in 5.5 hours, you can read my final story here: my Blog. It was an amazing experience and I will be running another marathon in Dublin in october.
THank you all so much, I can now say that I am no longer a couch potato and am looking forward to running like forest! xxxxx____________________________________________________________________________________
Last years attempt to train for and run the marathon didn't get off the starting line but this year I am focused and determined! Please read on!
Most of you reading this will know me as Emma - The Owner of Adjamiba Clubwear. I am also a mum of 2 and wife to Lee. I have always wanted to achieve something very special in my life and this is my attempt at personal achievement whilst doing something for a cause that is close to my heart.
I have lost relatives and friends to cancer and whilst my father is currently in remission from the disease, he lives in fear of it too. Most of us have been affected my cancer in our lifetime and I would like to help to ensure that by the time my childrens generation are at the age where it may affect them more, that there are more cures for this horrible disease.
I am not a runner, but I am learning. I have a slow but progressive training program that has started now, in October 2009. I haven't told anyone about this yet and by the time you are reading this, I will have completed stage 1 of my training to be a runner - a nine week course to build up my strength and stamina before I move on to endurance training. Here you can read my Blog where I have been documenting my Journey from Couch Potato, to Runner.
My Target whilst running for cancer research is to raise £2000. If I do not raise this amount of money, then I wont be eligable to run and all my training, hard word and determination will have been in vain. If every one of my dear customers, friends, relatives and their friends would be kind enough to sponsor me just £1.00 each, I will easily achieve this target, achieve my ambition and contribute towards our childrens healthy futures.
