Bupa Great Manchester Run 2014 · 18 May 2014 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

When I told my family I'd registered to do the 10k, the reponse was 'Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Good luck!!'.

Those of you that know me well know that running is not my thing - I'm usually breathless by the time I get to the end of our street. So for 2014 I've made it my personal challenge to do the 10k in a reasonable time to prove to myself that I can, in fact, become a runner of sorts. It's also been my aim for a number of years to do something for Leukemia Research in memory of Richard, so I thought I'd use this as an opportunity to finally do it.

And now, after months of persuasion, I've got mum on the case too! She'll be running alongside me in aid of Brain Tumour Research, which as most of you know has also affected our family in the last couple of years. You can find her Just Giving page here:

Even the smallest sponsorship/donation to either of our chosen charities will be so gladly appreciated, and will go towards helping other families who have been or are currently being affected by these cruel illnesses.

A HUGE thank you for your sponsorship in advance, it'll keep us going through the hours of training we have to endure over the coming months!

Lots of love,

Emma (and Christine)
